NFTNYC 2024: SuperRare Exhibition

After the daytime gallery viewing, a large crowd gathered in the evening to see David Henry Nobody perform one of his absurdist pieces in the gallery. Plastered into a colored wall with two co-performers, David donned a rubber Joe Biden mask in between what seemed to be an astronaut and a disgruntled business man. The American flag was hanging above the astronaut and beneath the plaster holding this whole scene together were ropes that were handed to audience members. As the performance reached its climax, the audience members were urged to pull on their strings, which resulted in the scene gradually coming apart and crumbling, with the performers freed from the plaster and the American flag falling to the ground. David Henry Nobody completed the performance by emptying a garbage-bag-sized plaster sac, squeezing out what seemed to be shaving cream along with an alien infant. David completed the performance by covering himself in the contents of the sack and stage diving into the arms of the SuperRare team. It was truly a highlight of NFTNYC!
